NFL Schedule October 2021 – Top Picks
The NFL season is up and running. We’ve got a good idea of where each team stands. The NFL schedule October 2021 will reveal much more as coaches adjust, injuries hit and players find their midseason form.
NFL Schedule October 2021
October will expose pretenders. True contenders will make themselves known, pulling away from inferior teams in the standings. Each week in the NFL schedule October 2021 contains multiple mouth-watering games.
We’ve picked out four of the top games this month, starting with two AFC powerhouses.
Bills vs Chiefs
It doesn’t get bigger than this. Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes face-off once again. The two AFC favourites matchup for the first time since their playoff duel last winter.
This is the standout game on the NFL schedule October 2021. The Chiefs offense continues to break records. Buffalo’s defense already has a couple of shutouts to its name, and after some Week 1 struggles, Allen has overseen their own destructive offense.
Kansas City is under a bit of pressure following a 2-2 start. Buffalo sits at 3-1 and will take a huge step towards the top seed in the AFC with a win in Week 5.
Bookies marginally favour the Chiefs, and that will tempt a lot of bettors on a smaller than usual spread. The points overlooks a great bet here, though. It’s going to be all about the offense.
Ravens vs Chargers
Each sitting 3-1 after Week 4, the Ravens and Chargers are well-positioned heading into Week 5 and beyond. Their duel in Week 6 will be a big moment in the AFC given how competitive the North and West look set to be.
Lamar Jackson and Justin Herbert both provide brilliance, albeit in different ways. Jackson will challenge the Chargers’ struggling run defense, while Herbert must cope with a Baltimore defense which ranks third in the NFL in pressure rate.
Herbert already has some big-time road scalps to his name. He’s not afraid of a duel like this.
This has the makings of a regular season epic, particularly with the early season stakes given the standings.
Cardinals vs Packers
Arizona heads into Week 5 as the league’s only unbeaten team. Their defense has benefited from offseason tweaks. Kyler Murray is building an MVP season with wins over the Titans, Vikings, Rams and Jaguars.
Green Bay has quietly gone about its business after a dramatic offseason. The Week 1 loss provoked further speculation, but Aaron Rodgers has made light work of the Lions, Niners and Steelers in the following weeks. They could easily add three more wins before their trip to Arizona.
This will be a massive game for the Packers as they look to prove their Super Bowl credentials. As it stands, it’s hard to look past the Redbirds, but it would be foolish to write off Rodgers.
Vikings vs Cowboys
The Vikings host the Cowboys in the final game of the NFL schedule October 2021. Minnesota owns a 1-3 record to start the year, but they have performed far better than those numbers suggest. Tight losses to the Bengals and Cardinals were followed by a spectacular win over Seattle.
Minnesota hosts a Cowboys team on a mission. Dallas pushed Tampa Bay deep. They beat the Eagles, but more impressively, they got the better of the Chargers and Panthers. Dak Prescott is back to somewhere near his best, and the offseason moves have had the desired impact on the defence.
Dallas are the second-highest scorers in the NFC after Week 4. Barring any injuries or a shock drop off in performance, America’s Team will be favoured for their trip to Minneapolis, but don’t write off these Vikings.
Minnesota has winnable games in Weeks 5 and 6. Coming off a bye and potentially with rebuilt confidence, they will not make it easy for the Prescott and co.
