Premier League 2021/22 – Matchday 10
Let’s take a look at the most interesting fixtures coming up this weekend.
Leicester V Arsenal
Leicester had a slow start to 2021/22. Consecutive wins look to have got them back on track, but they face an Arsenal side high on confidence at the weekend. The Gunners are unbeaten in six league matches and played some good football in their win over Aston Villa last Friday.
Jamie Vardy is a doubt for this match after going off at half-time at the weekend. Leicester’s attack can be dangerous even without Vardy, but their defense remains a concern. Only four teams have conceded more goals than Brendan Rodgers’ team this season.
There should be plenty of goals at the King Power on Saturday lunchtime. Bettors could be tempted to even go over 3.5 on the total.
Tottenham V Manchester United
It’s unclear who will be in charge of Manchester United for their trip to Tottenham. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the brink after a 5-0 defeat to Liverpool in matchday 9.
Nuno Espirito Santo is under severe pressure, too. Tottenham didn’t have a shot in the second half of their defeat to West Ham. The north London club have scored just nine goals in nine Premier League matches – only four teams have scored fewer.
If Solskjaer is still in charge, this is a must-not-lose match for him. Given the dysfunction at Manchester United, this should be a real opportunity for Nuno and Spurs to kickstart their season.
It’s hard to have confidence in either team right now, though. A moment of individual magic is most likely to decide this one.
Aston Villa V West Ham
A good start to the season has come to an end for Aston Villa. They have lost three consecutive league matches and conceded eight goals in the process. Ahead of their Premier League 2021/22 – Matchday 10 duel, West Ham are already seven points clear of their Sunday opponents.
David Moyes’ side have bounced back from defeat to Brentford with wins over Everton and Tottenham. This isn’t a fluke either. West Ham sit fourth in expected goal difference per 90, and they have emphatically passed the eye test in 2021/22.
Dean Smith will hope to have Leon Bailey available to start. Morgan Sanson gives another option in the middle third as he works his way back from injury.
These teams are relatively even in talent alone. Aston Villa are still searching for their identity in the post-Grealish era, though, while West Ham are a well-coached side with top six aspirations.

Premier League Table 2021/22
Chelsea is atop the Premier League table 2021/22 after thrashing Norwich. The Blues lead Liverpool and Manchester City heading into Premier League 2021/22 – Matchday 10.
Burnley, Newcastle and Norwich are still winless. The trio are all in the relegation zone. At the other end of the table, just three points separate fourth-placed West Ham from 10th placed Arsenal.
