Premier League 2021/22 – Matchday 9
Let’s take a look at the most intriguing Premier League 2021/22 – Matchday 9 fixtures.
Everton V Watford
Everton picked up just four of the last 12 available points. Injuries are hurting Rafa Benitez’s side, who looked short on attacking ideas in their defeat to West Ham last time out.
🗣"Very tough, very strong, every dual. That is what I want with my players."

The Toffees face a Watford team which needs to put in a big performance. Claudio Ranieri’s first match in charge ended in a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Liverpool, but the effort displayed was even worse than the result itself. The Hornets are heading for a rough run of fixtures. With five defeats in their last seven outings in all competitions, this is a massive game for Ranieri’s side.
Everton were perfect at home prior to last weekend. This won’t be straightforward, and Watford will be fighting hard, but these are the matches Benitez is a master at getting a result in.
West Ham V Tottenham
West Ham bounced back with their win over Everton. Tottenham made it consecutive league victories with a scintillating attacking display in front of a raucous Newcastle crowd.
These are two teams with plenty of confidence ahead of the clash at the London Stadium. Goals are likely in this fixture – 18 goals have been scored in Tottenham’s last five trips to West Ham.

West Ham is third in expected goal difference, while Spurs still languish in the bottom half. Tottenham’s attack has looked good in its last two outings, however, and Harry Kane finally got on the scoresheet in the northeast last weekend.
This should be an entertaining 90 minutes in east London. It could either way between two well-matched teams.
Manchester United V Liverpool
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the brink again. The Norwegian has been here before, but the pressure is particularly intense ahead of Liverpool’s visit in Premier League 2021/22 – Matchday 9.
Manchester United with Ole Gunnar Solskjær are like Chelsea with Frank Lampard. A top squad with a manager not even close to being up to it. Chelsea showed what is possible when you get in a genuine quality manager

Manchester United have won just two of their last seven matches in all competitions. Liverpool is unbeaten thus far, and thrashed Watford last weekend. Mo Salah is arguably the best player on the planet right now.
There are rumblings of discontent from the Manchester United dressing room. Their performances all season long have been shaky, and the results are beginning to reflect the dysfunction on the field.
One or two balloons saying Sir Alex Ferguson was given time so so should Solskjaer! Ferguson got the Man Utd job off the back of a stellar managerial record and huge success at Aberdeen. Dethroning the Old Firm and beating Real Madrid in a European final.Give your head a wobble.

Solskjaer has escaped situations like this with a big result in the past. Perhaps he does it again. A Liverpool win is by far the most likely outcome, though, particularly with the form of Salah.
